Staff

All of our professionals at University Dermatology, Inc. and SKINPros, LLC maintain the highest level of accreditation to offer the highest quality care to each and every patient.

Reception

Our receptionists will schedule your appointments, register your materials and mail you a questionnaire and brochure.

Nursing staff

These caring nurses have decades of combined experience in Mohs surgery. They assist in consultations, evaluation, patient education and as surgical assistants.  They are available to answer any questions you may have about the procedure and post-operative care.

Mohs Technicians

Our units employs two full-time Mohs technicians that are American Socierty for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certified.  They process tissue in our state-of-the-art lab, which is inspected annually by state and federal organizations such as Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA).

Residents and Medical Students

Medical students have a mostly observational role in the unit.  Our residents and fellows are specifically involved with the evaluations and assisting in surgery. This is part of our mission as a teaching program. However, the attending physician is involved in all key aspects of your care.

Our Mohs Surgeons are Board Certified Dermatologists and Fellowship Trained Skin Cancer and Reconstructive Surgeons

Mo hs Surgeon: Raymond Dufresne, Jr., MD

Raymond Dufresne, Jr., MD graduated from Providence College. He completed medical school and residencies in Internal Medicine and Dermatology at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, as well as a Mohs and Dermatologic Surgery Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Dufresne is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Dermatology and has been an elected fellow in the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery. He is the Director of the Mohs and Dermatological Surgery Division at Rhode Island Hospital and is a Professor in the Department of Dermatology at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Dufresne has performed Mohs procedures over the last 25 years. His practice focuses exclusively on Mohs surgery.

Mohs Surgeon: Antonio P. Cruz, MD

Antonio Cruz, MD graduated from Boston College. He completed medical school at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and an Internal Medicine Internship at The Roger Williams Medical Center. He completed a Residency in Dermatology, a Fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, Dermatologic Surgery, and Cutaneous Oncology at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.  His practice focuses on Mohs micrographic surgery, dermatologic surgery and cosmetic dermatology.  He previously supervised the Dermatologic Surgery and Cosmetic clinics for the senior Dermatology residents of Alpert Medical School and is Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology.  His office location is in the SKINPros building located on 1287 North Main Street.

Mohs Surgeons are Professors of Dermatology of the Department of Dermatology of the Alpert Medical School
